Cavallino Treporti cycling tourism: route map

At the foot of the bridge over the Pordelio you find the Via del Tramonto, a route mapped by the Parco Turstico Cavallino Treporti.

Through the cycle path you travel along the west face of Cavallino Treporti with direct views of the lagoon, where you can see the island of Burano, characterized by brightly colored houses, Torcello, the oldest one in the northern lagoon with the remains of a Romanesque villa, Sant’Erasmo, defined since the times of the Serenissima as “the garden of Venice”. Through the road connection, you come to Forte Treporti, the oldest fortification of the Austro-Hungarian period, which dates back to 1845. Then you reach the Lungo mare Dante Alighieri cycle path, which leads to the pagoda lighthouse of Punta Sabbioni. On the left the Adriatic coast from where you can see the horizon over the sea. The return through Via Montello runs alongside the green pine forest, where sometimes you come across some squirrels looking for a juicy berry. Continue along the forest road to connect with Via Retrone and on the right the exit into Via Adige to connect, on the left, with Via dei Forti. Then continue along Via Retore and come out onto Via Brenta to connect with the Via di Ca’ Savio cycle path.

Recommended only in the winter or spring months, no later than May, because fauna nests and noises could cause disturbance, furthermore the grass is tall and there are numerous mosquitoes.
