At the beginning of the bridge over the Pordelio you find the Via del Tramonto. Through the cycle path you travel along the west side of Cavallino Treporti with a direct view of the lagoon. Here you can see the island of Burano, characterized by brightly colored houses, Torcello, the oldest in the northern lagoon with the remains of a Romanesque villa, Sant’Erasmo, defined since the times of the Serenissima as the garden of Venice. Through the road connection you come to FORTE TREPORTI, the oldest fortification of the Austro-Hungarian period, which dates back to 1845, you reach the Lungo mare Dante Alighieri cycle path which leads to the pagoda lighthouse of Punta Sabbioni. On the left the Adriatic coast from where you can see the horizon over the sea. The return through Via Montello runs alongside the green pine forest, where sometimes you come across some squirrels looking for a juicy berry. Continue along the forest road to connect with Via Retrone and on the right you find the exit into Via Adige to connect, on the left, with Via dei Forti. You also continue along Via Retore and come out onto Via Brenta to connect with the cycle path of Via di Ca’ Savio.
